Welcome

Malmö Budokwai welcomes you to our website!

We are a martial arts association that has existed in Malmö since 1968 and has developed a style in the name of Combat Ju Jutsu Ryu, CJJR. The style includes striking and kicking techniques, throws and takedowns, as well as grappling techniques. CJJR is based on traditional martial arts of the samurai of Japan, but is further developed into a modern, realistic self-defense and adapted forms of competition.

Malmo Budokwai offers four different workout options to the same tuition fee:

Combat Ju Jutsu

Combat Ju Jutsu is a defensive-offensive style. We train Combat Ju Jutsu with a focus on technique from a dynamic perspective. The foundation's "Kihon waza" - core techniques - with training and exercises in blocks, punches, kicks, throws, takedowns and grappling techniques. Furthermore, we practice "Jigo waza" - self-defense techniques - where we learn to apply our core technologies in realistic self-defense situations.

The style and training method allows for adaptation to individual conditions, as you practice, you will develop your techniques to suit you in training, self-defense or competition.

We practice in various groups with grading to a new belt color at the conclusion of each training period in the group, from beginners' white belt all the way up to the black belt.

Combat – Workout sessions focusing on competition

In this option we train to be able to take part in various martial arts competitions both in Sweden and internationally. It is good to partake in both combat and other training sessions at the club, all included in the tuition fee!

Combat MMA – Mixed Martial Arts

Malmo Budokwai holds training sessions for MMA, Mixed Martial Arts. As a club we cherish traditions but also about being up to date making MMA a pleasing feature of the club. Combat MMA is based on the training principles that are recognizable from the main style of Combat Ju Jutsu. These training principles can be summarized in a dynamic training (training in movement) with a focus on technique. Combat MMA includes all aspects of martial arts competition: Distance and clinch, standing and grappling, in other words beats / kicks, throws / takedowns and ground game.

Combat MMA practitioners will be able to take part in various competitions that they may be in, but one must not compete to train Combat MMA! The group is open to all who want to partake in this exercise. You can combine Combat MMA with other training sessions at the club, all are included in the training fee!

Combat  Boxing – Standing striking and kicking techniques

Combat Boxing is training sessions with a specific focus on standing striking and kicking techniques from the outside or in the clinch. Combat Boxing is based on the training principles that are recognizable from the main style of Combat Ju Jutsu. These training principles can be summarized in a dynamic training (training in movement) with a focus on technique.
